Construction projects in SH moving forward

CJ Dablo Staff Writer Several new construction projects underway in the city of Signal Hill are transforming key areas in the city’s 2.2 square miles. The city will soon see a middle school, facilities for a new waste-management company, and a modern police station.

Former LB councilmember chosen as director of Contreras Foundation

Former 7th District Long Beach City Councilmember Tonia Reyes Uranga has been chosen to lead the Miguel Contreras Foundation as its first executive director. The nonprofit organization’s mission is to increase educational access and provide opportunities for immigrant integration while focusing on increasing civic participation in underserved communities.
