Youth, community invited to dialogue with police officers

Youth and community members are invited to dialogue with Long Beach Police Department officers on Monday, May 2, and Wednesday, May 4, from 5:30pm to 8pm at The Neighborhood– a United Methodist community, 507 Pacific Ave.
The dialogue is an effort to develop and promote awareness and understanding among Long Beach residents, youth and police officers. Youth and community members are encouraged to attend both nights. Space is limited, and RSVPs are required. Free dinner and door prizes will be provided both nights.
The dialogue will provide a unique opportunity for youth, residents and law-enforcement officers to engage in productive conversation about perceptions and expectations of each other while exploring ways to improve police-community relations.
This event is part of a series of dialogues that have been held throughout the city over the last six months, sponsored by the City of Long Beach Human Dignity Program, the Long Beach Police Department and the California Conference on Equality and Justice.
