The vocal ensemble Women of Note will present two concerts that are free to the public next month.

The vocal ensemble Women of Note, under the direction of Carla Strandberg, will perform two concerts celebrating the power of anticipation. “Coming as Promised” will be presented Friday, Dec. 16 at 8pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 6500 Stearns St., and on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 4pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Atlantic Ave., 525 E. 7th St.
The public is welcome to attend these free concerts. The program will also feature soloists Bill Stein and Landon Shaw, as well as Dulcimers of Dunmore.
“Dulcimers of Dunmore is a local band of four women who play hammered dulcimers and keep an old American art form alive as they perform for events in the greater Long Beach community,” Strandberg said. “At our December concerts they will accompany soloist Holly Goodman as she sings ‘I Wonder and I Wander,’ an early American Appalachian carol. They will also play a medley of familiar carols on their own and will assist the vocal ensemble on a ‘Silent Night’ audience sing-a-long.”
