LB Lesbian & Gay Pride celebrating two decades of community toy drive

Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride, in partnership with several locally owned businesses, has again started collecting toys for needy children in Long Beach. Their holiday toy drive will continue through the week of Dec. 13, with the participation of at least 15 locations throughout Long Beach.
“Please help us continue over two decades of giving,” said Pat Crosby, co-president.
“The idea that this year we can actually see the joy in the kids’ eyes when they receive their gifts is very exciting,” said Bob Crow, co-president.
Over the last 20 years, the nonprofit organization has donated toys to local charities such as Catholic Charities, California Families in Focus, Substance Abuse Foundation and Children Today. To find a local business that is a toy drop-off location, call (562) 987-9191.
This year “Santa” will be at the Long Beach Pride offices, 1017 Obispo Ave., on Sunday, Dec. 18 to hand out toys to local children. Families are welcome to bring their kids from 1pm to 5pm to meet Santa, have a snack and get a toy.
