Park going to the dogs? (part two)

I read your story about the proposed dog park near El Dorado Nature Center. We take our family dogs to the dog park in Recreation Park and to the dog beach.
These are hard times for our city; we don’t feel that money needs to be spent on creating something new until we take care of what we already have. The dog park in Recreation Park could use grass instead of dirt– grass could be grown on one half at a time as is done other places. It looks run down. The group who wants a place in El Dorado Park has two years to raise money for the park, which includes an escrow account for maintenance. Why the rush on this? Why crowd out the users of our jewel, El Dorado Park East and Nature Center?
