LB resident succumbs to gunshot wounds

On Saturday, Dec. 22, at approximately 11:19 p.m., a shooting occurred in the 200 block of East Pleasant Street that resulted in the death of a male adult.
When officers arrived on scene they discovered two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where one succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as, 18-year-old Miguel Alvarez, a Long Beach resident. The other victim, whose name is being withheld, is in stable condition.
The preliminary investigation indicated both victims were standing in front of a residence when they were shot at multiple times.
There is no suspect information and a motive has not yet been determined.
