First Fridays Art Walk to include coronation of Long Beach Mardi Gras king, queen

The new year celebrations will continue right into the First Fridays Art Walk in Bixby Knolls with food, music, art, strolling, shopping and socializing. The event will also include the crowning of the King & Queen of the 2013 Long Beach Mardi Gras, as well as the Spring Street Farm Project’s exhibit at the Expo Arts Center.
Eighth District Councilmember Al Austin’s “Council on Your Corner” will be set up at Atlantic Avenue and Burlinghall Drive to meet and greet attendees, and 7th District Councilmember James Johnson’s “First Books at First Fridays” event will begin at 5:30pm at the Dana Branch Library featuring community leader John Royce as the guest reader.
Attendees may dine on “Art-Lantic” Avenue at one of the local restaurants then grab the Big Red Bus to travel from venue to venue via designated stops at the participating businesses.
Bella Cosa, 3803 Atlantic Ave., will have all the information about First Fridays, maps, business info, and restaurant recommendations from 6:30pm to 8pm.
