Built in 1844, Rancho Los Cerritos is a National, State and Long Beach Historic Landmark that includes historic gardens and a research library and archives.

Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site will offer an afternoon of free and old-fashioned fun in a workshop for children on Saturday, Feb. 2, called Creation Station: “Heart Crazy.” The workshop is ideal for children ages 6 to 10 years old and provides an opportunity for them to create unique crafts and participate in a historically themed program.
Families can drop by and participate anytime between 1pm and 4pm. No reservations are required. Creation Station workshops are held rain or shine.
“Heart Crazy” celebrates the loveliness of Valentine’s Day. Children can choose from an array of art supplies to make Valentine sculptures, cards, and trivets. In addition to participating in the “Heart Crazy” hands-on activities, visitors can choose to take a free house tour or garden tour.
Garden tours are offered at 2:30pm every Saturday and Sunday, and house tours are available Wednesday through Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
The upcoming Creation Station workshops include “Lovely Lavender” on March 2., “Cool Blues” on April 6, “Sunny Yellow” on May 4, and “Rainbow Surprise” on June 1.
