Established in 1929, the Playhouse is one of the oldest continuously operating theatres on the west coast. In addition to producing 16 plays each year in its Mainstage and Studio Theatres, the Playhouse produces four staged readings of playwright’s new works, has ongoing workshops for youth and adults, active internship programs in its scene and costume shops and a professional full-time production staff.
