4th of July event to include kids’ activities, food trucks and live music

Seventh District Councilmember James Johnson, The Port of Long Beach and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine will host a free Independence Day concert and family-friendly activities on Thursday, July 4 at 6pm at Willow Springs Park, 2745 Orange Ave.
Activities for children will include a bounce house, balloon animals, face painting, and more. Locally owned Canvas food truck and the award-winning India Jones Chow Truck will sell food for those who want to have dinner in the park.
After a patriotic flyover at 7pm, the Bernie Pearl Quartet will provide live entertainment. Around 8:30pm, attendees will be able to watch local firework shows from the park, which is the highest accessible point in Long Beach. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a chair and jacket.
