Larry Forester’s office wall is probably hurting for space. At Tuesday’s Signal Hill City Council meeting, Forester, the outgoing mayor, was honored with more certificates than one person can hold.
The Council Chambers were packed, with standing room available only.
He was honored with several certificates of appreciation and proclamations from state and Long Beach officials, including Los Angeles County Fire Department and sheriff’s representatives.
Then it was down to business.
In a no more than a 30-second span, Tina Hansen was nominated and elected new Signal Hill mayor. Mike Noll will take her place as vice mayor.
Ellen Ward, though absent, was named new chairwoman of the Redevelopment Agency and Ed Wilson will be vice chairman.
From there it was on to the Mayor’s Reception in the Community Center.
