Man dead after confrontation leads to stabbing

A 51-year-old man is dead after a physical confrontation that occurred last Sunday night, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
On Sunday, Nov. 3, at approximately 8:15pm, LBPD officers responded to a “fight” call in the 1900 block of Locust Avenue.
When officers arrived, they discovered 51-year-old Anthony Ramirez lying in the street. He appeared to be the victim of a stabbing and was transported by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
A motive for the stabbing is unknown, however, the preliminary investigation indicated that he may have been involved in a physical fight with a group of subjects prior to the stabbing.
No suspect information is available, and the incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
