What will the future of Long Beach look like?

Long Beach residents are invited to share their thoughts and ideas on how to make Long Beach an even greater city by the year 2030.
An upcoming series of community festivals provides a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Long Beach 2030 Plan. The Long Beach 2030 Plan is the process to update the city’s General Plan, a comprehensive, long-term plan that creates a vision for the future of the city.
Among other questions, Long Beach wants to know:
• How will the city integrate cars, buses, bicycles and pedestrians into how the public moves around Long Beach?
• How does Long Beach encourage jobs with the city and what types of jobs does the city need?
• How does the city of Long Beach balance new development with the historic aspects of its past?
The festivals will also provide free food, games, prizes and a raffle. All are from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at the following locations:
• June 2, Stevenson Elementary School, 515 Lime Avenue
• June 9, Jordan High School, 6500 Atlantic Avenue
• June 16, El Dorado Park Senior Center, 2800 Studebaker Road
• June 23, Hughes Middle School, 3846 California Avenue
