Bonnie Lowenthal to kick off Assembly campaign open house

Bonnie Lowenthal will launch the final stage of her quest for the 54th Assembly District seat with an open house celebration at her campaign headquarters on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The public is invited to come meet the candidate, explore volunteering opportunities and enjoy light refreshments. The campaign office is located at 2115 Bellflower Blvd. in Long Beach.
“I want our campaign headquarters to be a hub of activity and excitement as we work together toward victory in November,” Lowenthal said.
Currently a member of the Long Beach City Council, Lowenthal won the June 3 primary election, putting her on the Nov. 4 general-election ballot opposite Republican and Libertarian candidates. She has devoted her time in public service to the needs of schoolchildren and working families and to fighting to protect precious natural resources like the air and the ocean.
Along with serving on the Long Beach City Council for seven years, Lowenthal is a former member of the Long Beach school board. Professionally, she is a licensed family counselor, mental health consultant and college-level instructor.
She is seeking the Assembly seat currently held by Betty Karnette, who is not running for re-election because of term limits. The 54th Assembly District includes most of Long Beach, Signal Hill, a portion of San Pedro, Catalina Island and the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
