Training for Community Emergency Response Team begins soon

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department in partnership with the Signal Hill Police Department is presenting a Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) training to the public.
Following a major disaster, police, fire and medical professionals may not be able to fully meet the demand. People will have to rely on each other to meet immediate needs, particularly in isolated neighborhoods that may be cut off from the main roads for a period of time.
The course curriculum covers: Emergency Preparedness, Fire Safety, Emergency Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue Operations, Disaster Psychology, Terrorism and C.E.R.T. and Disaster Simulation.
The free training will be a series of three consecutive Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dates will be announced after the class is formed and will take place at the Signal Hill Community Center, 1780 E. Hill Street.
To enroll in the program training, contact Sergeant Vern Doose at Vdoose@cityofsignalhill.org.
