Out and About LB donates $57,000 to local charities

Ken Sakata, President of Out and About Long Beach, recently announced that Out and About Long Beach has exceeded its charitable giving goal of $50,000. Over the last seven years, they have funded numerous Long Beach charities, with an emphasis on educational enrichment programs and providing necessities of life for needy families in Long Beach. “As a gay group, our objective is to play a meaningful role in supporting the overall fabric of charitable giving in Long Beach,” said Sakata. “This fundraising goal could not have been attained without the generous donations of our membership.”
Recent beneficiaries of Out and About’s charitable giving program include:
Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach; Children Today; Comprehensive Child Development, Inc.; The Guidance Center; Long Beach Poly Choral and Theater Departments; Long Beach Public Library Foundation; Longfellow Elementary Art Education and Art Instruction Program; Rancho Los Alamitos; Long Beach Museum of Art; Museum of Latin American Art; AIDS Food Store of Long Beach; CARE Program of St. Mary’s Hospital; California Pools of Hope; Memorial Hospital- Children Dental Clinic; and Long Beach Senior Center.
