Nature Center to host winter workshops for kids

The Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department’s El Dorado Nature Center, 7550 E. Spring Street, will host Winter Break Workshops during the holidays. The public is invited to join in for vacation fun at the Nature Center to explore the plants and animals that live there or are just passing through on their way south for the winter.
Morning sessions from 9:30am – 11:30am are for 6 – 7 year olds who have completed kindergarten. Afternoon classes from 1pm – 3pm are for 7 – 9 year olds. Fee is $9 per participant for each workshop. The workshops include: December 22 – Science Sorcery; December 23 – Fool the Eye; December 24 – It’s a Bug’s Life; December 26 – Backyard Buddies; December 29 – Weave and Wear; December 30 – Migrant Monarchs and Over-Wintering Wings; December 31 – Yuck!; January 2 – Sensational Serpents. Space is limited. Sign up early by calling the Nature Center at (562) 570-1745.
