One man is dead and another injured after a shooting on Saturday, Oct. 7, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
Around 12:05am that day, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of East 56th Street regarding gunshots heard in the area.
When officers arrived, they located both victims in the street. One had been struck in the torso and determined deceased at the scene by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics. He has been identified as 47-year-old Deon Robinson of Carson.
The second victim was struck in the lower body and was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition. He is only being identified as a 36-year-old resident of Long Beach.
A motive for the shooting is unknown, and the investigation remains ongoing.
