One person is dead after a three-car collision early Wednesday morning, according to the Signal Hill Police Department (SHPD).
On Oct. 11, around 1:15am, the SHPD received multiple calls regarding a traffic accident in the area of Cherry Avenue and East Spring Street. Upon arrival, SHPD officers observed that three vehicles were involved in the collision. Multiple occupants were transported to local hospitals with varying severity of injuries.
At press time, one motorist had been pronounced deceased at the scene. The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending notification of their family.
Because of the collision investigation, several nearby roadways were closed and remained so to ensure the circumstances of the collision were investigated thoroughly, according to police.
At 8:35am Wednesday, the SHPD released an advisory indicating that all the affected roadways had been reopened.
This collision occurred on the border of several jurisdictions, so the Long Beach Police Department and the California Highway Patrol assisted the SHPD in the investigation.
