The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Los Angeles has announced the appointment of David Fields as its new executive director.
For more than 15 years, Fields has been an active and dedicated Vincentian, supporting the works of the Los Angeles Council. His prior involvement included serving as president of the St. Elizabeth Conference in Altadena, district president of the San Gabriel Council, chairman of the Los Angeles Council’s Conference Concerns Committee and member of the Los Angeles Council’s Executive Committee. He is also an active community member and has served as the president of the Central Altadena Little League and president of the Black Catholic Association of Altadena and Pasadena.
Fields takes his new post with more than 30 years of management experience. Prior to his work with the Society, he served for 25 years in senior management positions at Xerox Corporation. After leaving Xerox, he worked as an operations manager for Bovis Lend Lease, a construction management firm based in Southern California.
Fields is a graduate of UCLA, and he holds a teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles.
