Treasure Box program offers low-cost grocery packages to community

Sometimes the most essential things in life are hard to come by. Providing affordable and quality meals to hungry individuals and families in communities throughout Southern California and beyond is a service The Treasure Box takes very seriously. Its mission is to improve the quality of meal time and bring communities together, one Treasure Box at a time.
For $30 each, the basic Treasure Box, whose contents would retail between $65 and $100, is enough food to feed a family of four lunch and dinner for almost a week or an individual for nearly a month. Nutritious and plentiful, each Treasure Box contains between 21 and 25 pounds of grocery-store quality frozen foods, including chicken, pork, beef, or seafood, as well as vegetables, fruit, a side dish and a dessert.
The Treasure Box offers three options for meal programs:
1. Basic Treasure Box
2. Quick & Healthy (10 individually-packed meals, low in sodium, fat, and
cholesterol)
3. Hearty Protein Box (contains 10 to 12 pounds of protein)
A division of San Diego-based company Good Source Solutions, The Treasure Box was created in response to the rising cost of living as a means of providing a viable food option for individuals and families looking to stretch their dollar without compromising the quality of their meals. Representing a savings of nearly 65 percent off of grocery store prices, The Treasure Box provides a positive and healthy impact to families and individuals during this economically challenging time.
The Treasure Box has partnerships with more than 500 nationally recognized food manufacturers to purchase and provide top quality, nutritious food at sizeable volume discounts to the general public.
Treasure Boxes are available online at thetreasurebox.org or in person (for cash payment) with cash, at one of the local partners. There is no limit to the number of boxes that can be purchased, and the program is available to everyone, regardless of their income level.
