Long Beach Community Foundation (LBCF) announced the recipients of Emergency Healthcare Services grants during a presentation last week at Gallery Expo in Bixby Knolls. Six nonprofit healthcare providers along the Atlantic Avenue corridor were named as recipients of these general operating support grants, made possible by financial assistance from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, which granted $50,000 to LBCF to provide immediate capital to help local healthcare centers manage and meet the needs of rising patient caseloads.
The grant award recipients are Children’s Dental Health Clinic, The Guidance Center, For The Child, The Children’s Clinic, Long Beach Alliance for Children with Asthma, and Pacific Asian Counseling Services. Giving attention to holistic health needs, these providers collectively address general health, dental, emotional, and mental health needs of adults and children.
To provide emergency safety-net funds to nonprofits delivering critical healthcare services to underserved families and individuals, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation also awarded a second $50,000 grant to LBCF for the same purpose.
Nonprofit healthcare organizations throughout the Long Beach community are eligible to apply for these grant awards by submitting a letter of inquiry (one to two pages) that includes a brief description of the organization, grant amount requested, and how it will specifically help the organization. The organization description should include date founded, annual operating budget amount, and services provided. Primary healthcare services encompass physical, emotional/mental, dental, vision, and hearing.
Letters must be received by 5pm Wednesday, Aug. 25. They may be submitted electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to Grants Administration, LBCF, 400 Oceangate Suite 800, Long Beach, CA 90802. Grant awards will be up to $10,000 and will be announced by early October.
