Nina Cash is enjoying a second chance at a modeling career on TV Land Network’s She’s Got the Look.

Twenty years after her modeling aspirations were cut short when she became pregnant, Long Beach native Regina Cash, known to her close family and friends as “Nina,” finds herself in front of the cameras, auditioning and beating out thousands of other hopefuls across the country to be one of the top 10 finalists on TV Land’s hit show She’s Got the Look, Season 3.
Cash grew up in a very traditional Catholic, military family and describes her ethnic background as a “Heinz 57,” a mix of Filipino, Spanish, German, Japanese and American-Indian descent. At 16, she was scouted to be a model, but her parents would not allow her to do so until she graduated high school. After she graduated from Long Beach Poly High, her career began, with modeling assignments around the country, but it was cut short when she had to put it aside to raise her child as a single parent.
She’s Got the Look sets out to discover a beautiful, sophisticated and confident woman over the age of 35 who has the potential to transform herself into a model, representing some of the most high-profile brands and highly-coveted campaigns in the fashion and beauty industries. The winner of the series receives a contract with Wilhelmina Models, Inc. and a photo spread in Self magazine.
“I am truly grateful for getting a second chance at modeling,” Cash said. “I honestly feel more comfortable and confident in my skin now than I ever did in my twenties. My life’s journey of battle scars, from giving birth to helping the differently-abled population, have all contributed to the person I am today. Being on the show and living in a house with nine other women validated that beauty does indeed blossom with age.”
The show chronicles a nationwide model search resulting in 10 contenders living together in Los Angeles as they compete in photo shoots, video shoots and high-fashion runway shows. The series is now playing in over 70 countries, with the first three seasons sold around the world. It can be seen in Australia, France, Holland, Italy, Israel, Korea, South Africa, and Thailand.
The premiere episode of Season 3 will air on Wednesday, Aug. 25, on the TV Land Network.
