November 19th, 2010 · No Comments · News

On Wednesday, Nov. 17, at approximately 9pm, Long Beach Police responded to a shooting call in the 1600 block of E. 53rd St. When they arrived, they found that a 14-year-old male had been shot in the upper torso area.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. This incident is being investigated as possibly gang related, although it is believed the victim had no gang ties.
The investigation is preliminary but shows that the victim was shot while inside the house by suspect(s) who were outside. It appears that the suspect(s) intended to shoot an unknown person inside of the residence.  Investigators are talking with all family members who have lived at the residence including an adult male who has gang ties. All possible motives are being investigated.
Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call Detectives Malcolm Evans or Todd Johnson at (562) 570-7244. To send an anonymous tip via text or email, visit longbeach.gov/police.
