Secretary of State’s office to conduct drawing for special elections

Secretary of State Debra Bowen’s office will hold a randomized alphabet drawing Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 11am to determine the order in which candidates’ names will appear on the February 15 special primary election ballots and, if necessary, the April 19 special run-off election ballots in Senate Districts 17 and 28.

 The Senate District 17 special election is being held to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of George Runner. The Senate District 28 special election is being held to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Jenny Oropeza.
