Pedestrian struck by car in Wrigley succumbs to injuries

On Saturday, Jan. 22, at approximately 6:11pm, Long Beach police officers responded to the intersection of Willow Street and Pasadena Avenue regarding a vehicle-versus-pedestrian injury-traffic collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Jose Rodriguez, a 28-year-old resident of Long Beach, was driving a 1999 Honda Accord eastbound on Willow Street at Pasadena Avenue when he struck a pedestrian who was legally crossing Willow, southbound, at Pasadena Avenue in an unmarked crosswalk.
Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department transported the pedestrian, identified as Sally Rae Paskin, a 69-year-old resident of Long Beach, to a local hospital with major trauma. Paskin later succumbed to her injuries.
