The Water Replenishment District of Southern California (WRD) conducted a special meeting of its board of directors last Friday to install three newly re-elected board members. The inductees were Willard H. Murray, Jr. (Division 1), Lillian Kawasaki (Division 3) and Sergio Calderon (Division 4). Residents, dignitaries, friends and family members were present for the standing-room-only event as the three were sworn in. State Senator Rod Wright (25th District) administered the oath to Murray, Assembly member Warren Furutani (55th District) did the honors for Kawasaki, and Assembly member Ricardo Lara (50th District) performed the duty for Calderon. During the festivities, it was announced that this election was the first time in 50 years that all incumbents had been reelected. The meeting was preceded by a breakfast reception.
