At their Sept. 24 meeting, the board of directors of the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy (RMC) voted to appoint Council Member Patrick O’Donnell as its representative to the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority (LCWA).
“I’ve made no secret of my interest in preserving and restoring our local wetlands”, O’Donnell said in a press release. “This appointment is a tremendous honor, and I will use it to advocate strongly for our precious resources.”
The LCWA was established in 2006 with the purpose of acquiring and restoring the Los Cerritos coastal wetland habitat.
O’Donnell also serves as representative to the Watershed Conservation Authority. He was appointed to the RMC Board by Mayor Bob Foster in 2006.
