The end of August concluded the California legislature’s law-making season, and a bill (AB1955) that would have stringently regulated elected officials’ income levels died while in the Senate– only weeks after Los Angeles Times reporters exposed the criminally large salaries that certain employees in the City of Bell had been earning.

Ready-to-work youth still available for small businesses at no cost

Already 325 area employers are receiving no-cost assistance from approximately 1,000 youth as part of the Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network’s Summer Youth Employment Training Program, which is made possible through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds.
