The suspect had been driving a blue 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 similar to the one pictured.
Recently, while investigating a domestic violence incident, officers made contact with the male suspect, who was subsequently arrested and his vehicle impounded. During the inventory search of the suspect’s vehicle, police discovered that it was illegally equipped with emergency police lighting and a siren. Also in the vehicle, police discovered numerous blank law-enforcement identification cards and multiple security officer badges and identification cards.
Detectives believe the suspect may have been impersonating a police officer, possibly making illegal traffic stops, and/or committing other illegal actions.
The suspect is described as a white, 34-year-old male with brown hair, hazel eyes, 5’9″ tall and 215 lbs. He was driving a blue 2004 Dodge Ram 1500.
LBPD is requesting that anyone who believes they may have been falsely detained by this individual to contact Long Beach Police Violent Crimes Detectives Peter Lackovic and John Hotchkiss at (562) 570-7250.
