A fire hydrant in Signal Hill was struck as a result of a minor traffic collision on Friday, Nov. 6. A driver traveling southbound on Lewis turned onto Burnett Street and into the driveway at 1015 Burnett, then hit the hydrant as he was backing out, shearing it from its base. The driver was cited at the scene.
